I was delighted to be approached by Alex Jones to chat about the creation of Bold Beanies and my experience of Breast Cancer on her BBC Radio Wales show on Sunday Morning. Talking hair loss from chemotherapy treatments and starting my small business making my innovative soft, comfy yet fashionable Bold Beanies from North Wales.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month...

... and what it means to me.  I'm really struggling with 'Pink October' this year. My youngest daughter's birthday is the fifth October and it marks a significant point in my life. Firstly, in this month I gave birth to my second beautiful baby girl... all I ever wanted, was to be a mum. I loved every minute of this pregnancy and Lotte was just a dream. My eldest daughter, Olivia, then had just turned three and was just so funny and full of life. Everybody's Free - a song to start the new year.

Despite my love for the lyrics of Finneas O'Connell and James Blunt currently, this song seems to be everywhere I turn (as with the numbers 2222) and so I thought I'd share it as many of its words speak to me

Its been around for a while, but I bet some will hear for the first time and some will be grateful to hear it again. Such simple yet wise words... "You are not as fat as you imagine" and "Don't worry about the future" resonate with me... but "Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours [heart]" is good advice. I've never lived in New York City or California (although I have lived in the USA) so new additions to my Bucket List... why not ? :)

Happy Healthy Peaceful Holidays To All...

Bold Beanies cancer headwear and all those at our little factory rebelfamily-production would like to wish you all Peaceful and Merry Holidays

A time to remember those who are no longer with us. A time to show love to those alone. A time to bask in the magic. A time to reflect and be grateful. A time to eat, share and drink and recharge for the forthcoming year and new challenges. 

As cancer doesn't stop for Christmas, we will still be shipping our chemo alopecia headwear, head wraps, headscarves, PICC covers and cancer gifts throughout the whole festive period, albeit at a slightly slower service than normal. For all those of you that are newly diagnosed or looking for cancer hats for loved ones, we understand and we care. 

Bold Beanies are designed with style, ease and comfort in mind, by me, Emilienne. I had chemotherapy for Breast Cancer 12 years ago over Christmas. One of my memories of that time is watching her very young children decorate the lower branches of their Christmas tree... and with no energy, thats how it stayed. I was very ill, but very grateful for every moment... and still am. I look forward to a big new family Christmas (and birthday!) with new traditions and lots of love.
